The app is actually a folder on mac that you can right click and open to get at its contents.

I didn't realize that I would have to right click on the application name to get the hierarchical menu and then go to 'show package contents', but otherwise your directions made sense. I'm using Yosemite and maybe that's why I couldn't figure out how to access those files.

I'l let you know how it turns out!

On a Mac, an application is actually a folder, but OS X pretends it's a single item. If you find the viewer under Applications in the Finder desktop, then Ctrl-click (or right-click) on the icon and get the menu, one of the menu choices is "Show Package Contents". If you do that, OS X will show you the actual folder the app represents. Then you can follow Sara's instructions for where it is... In that folder there is a Contents folder, then Resources, then the gpu_table.txt file is in there. It needs an update, which Sara has attached to her message as a zip file.

Edit: Looks like others beat me to it on this info and you have found the menu. ;)

We're still working on this. For anyone following along, the table doesn't seem to allow the water reflections to occur (they are greyed out in preferences). Sara is looking into it...
And thanks Jim and Tranq for explanations of the way to access the "packet contents". I did figure that out from Sara's instructions, but it wasn't clear why worked. Now I know.

The last table that Sara kindly uploaded will work for Firestorm. It will not work for the IW viewer, as far as I can tell.

Hoping we will get an updated viewer for IW, as I like to use it.

Jillian. Log into SL once with the viewer and then try IW again. There was an old bug, apparently back, where the viewer didnt use the water normal map supplied immediately. I found that if you visit SL once it seems to make the connection and then it works after that.

A shot in the dark but its worth a try.

I recently bought a new MacBook with Retina Display. When I first used it to log in to InWorldz, I got a message that said my video "card" hadn't been tested with the viewer and might not work properly.
Reviving this old thread because of recent developments (literally).

FYI: The IW3 viewer is more recent and directly supports Retina displays. And I've been told that it is the only viewer which does so.
