I recently bought a new MacBook with Retina Display. When I first used it to log in to InWorldz, I got a message that said my video "card" hadn't been tested with the viewer and might not work properly. The display was pretty bad at first but with some fiddling I got the menus to stop flickering. But the water has no reflections and looks flat blue and I can see objects underwater from the shore.

Is there some setting I need to change to make my world pretty again?

Your graphics card is probably too new to be recognized. It may be recognized by a more recent viewer such as the Firestorm 4.7.1 release. The problem is the list of cards found in the viewer installation: gpu_table.txt You likely need an updated version (you can copy one from another viewer, such as Firestorm or even SL) or the graphics are so new that it's not known to the updated file either.

It's either an Intel Iris or an ATI R9 card...... if you find that Jim's solution doesn't work (The card may in fact be too new) post here and I will make you a custom gpu_table.txt that will fix it.

I looked at the latest Singularity gpu table list and didn't see either card so I just went ahead and added the two possible cards to a new gpu_table.txt in the event you need it ..... I'm attaching it in a zipped up file.

InWorldz residents are the best. But I'm not sure how or where to use the table you created, Sara. Please advise.

Thank you,

I added that one too too...... you'll most likely be looking in either apps or downloads--- name of viewer (singularity or whatever viewer you use) ----contents---- resources. The gpu_table.txt is in the resources folder. Just overwrite the one in there with the one I uploaded and it 'should' be good to go. Enjoy :-)

I'm thinking the Mac version might not use such a table. I'm not finding anything with that name on my Mac, except what I just downloaded.

I just looked on my mac and it was there..... what viewer do you have?
maybe I explained it in an obtuse way (I'm not all that smart) it's either in apps or downloads\name of viewer (singularity or whatever viewer you use)\contents\resources with each folder located inside the folder before it .......
