As promised.

Within the next day or so I should be releasing version 1.0.0.8rc InWorldz Release Candidate.

As a heads up, InWorldz Viewer RC will include:

Bulk Permissions which is in the 1.23 SL release
Worn Tab which is in several of alternate viewers
Beta Grid drop down option for connecting to the beta grid
Meerkats Prim Backup - This I am having issues with right now, so might not make the RC

I also have been thinking about adding the Avatar Scanner by Dale Glass.

There are a few other small things, and some new stuff that won't make the release, but can discuss them if anyone is interested.

At the least I will release this with the first 3 additions.

As always if people have features they would like, please let me know.

After this release I will begin looking at a Linux release and a Mac release Though the Mac release is a little farther out, as I don't own a Mac, or have ever used one. :D If you know anyone that would be interested in building either a Linux, or Mac viewer, please contact me directly.

Of course, we also do not limit what viewer you use to enjoy InWorldz. It's always been my feeling that everyone has their own preference to what they like using when connecting to a service.

Hopefully everyone will find features they can use.

I so can not wait to get rid of that annoying red bar at the top! It just completely clashes with... well everything! :pffft:

I would like t see something like this built in the Avatar Scanner by Dale Glass. As for the back up tool that would be well for everyone I believe is possible though I can understand the work that must go into it. The top three are all good in my opinion. I'd be interested to know what the other things were you were looking at, Legion. As I've never actually used any other viewers anywhere other then the ones made by the Grids themselves. I suppose if there's a preference that's always been mine. LOL

As far as other things out there.

Emerald allows you to do some common things from the chat line.

You can rez platforms at z location, a few other things which are interesting, but probably not real functional.

You can teleport around a sim just by clicking a location on the map, or on that spot, if you can physically see it.

Double click to wear clothes from inventory.

Hippo has the grid manager, which means you can use the same viewer on multiple grids. Just choosing the grid you want to connect to from a drop down menu.

Quit a teleport at any time, and also removal of all the Telporting dialog and pauses. This achieves an 'immediate' teleport.

Gemini, a new one adds shadows to the viewer, and a new UI. As far as UI, I'm not too sure I want to start messing around with that. Right now I have the default and the Silver skin in the viewer, unfortunately some of the features in the Prim Backup are not in the Silver skin, so won't be available right away.

Teleport History is also available. That is handy, and will probably show up, sometime soon.

There is more, I'm not remembering. I'm sure I will think of them after I submit this.

I need to balance though what is useful and what is just nice to have.

I can see where some or all of these would be nice. There are some I'd rather not see or at least if they were put in able to be restricted within private regions. Though that too may be a lot of work and may not even be possible? Without wanting to go into too much detail on which are which it's just something to think about.

I couldn't agree more, I never realized how much I used the hollow feature. I miss the silver :beatcomp:

Ok..

Slight snag on this. My dev computer died.

I am hoping it's just the graphics card, and I can switch that out tonight.

I have the files I was working on, so this should not be a problem. I guess at the worst we will have to put up with a Second Life reference on the front page when logging in, as I should be able to build and package this on one of my other computers.

But.. as Ele pointed out, being as this is my computer with 2 monitors, I can't watch movies anymore while doing dev work!

:D

As promised in the Resident meeting yesterday...

InWorldz 1.0.0.8rc is ready for download. Even though I am calling this an RC, (To protect my ego if it fails) It should be a stable release.

Some features you will like.

Bulk Permissions - Set permissions on items in a prim all at once.
Prim Backup - Save builds offline. Right click on a prim, choose more>, more> backup. This will prompt you for a location to save your files. Make a folder and save. No need for Second Inventory to back up your builds
Worn Tab - Quick tab in inventory folder to show what you are wearing.
100% Transparency - Careful.. might lose it!
Grid Choice - InWorldz or InWorldzbeta

As in the last viewer you can make prims from .001 to 128m with 99% hollow.

Maximum bandwidth can be set to 5000 kbps.

Probably more I forget.

This will be available for download tomorrow. Enjoy.

Please be sure to report any issues you have, so they can be fixed, or others know what not to do!

This version is available only for Windows users. If anyone knows Linux or Mac users that have the capability to build an SL viewer, and they would be interested in doing so for us, please have them contact me.

Thank you!

Just added into my working build..

Link greater than 256 prims.

I linked 300, no problems.

Link prims across a region.

I dropped a prim in the center of my region, and linked it to the first 300 prims. Then dropped on at the opposite corner of my region, and linked to the 301 other prims. Worked beautifully.

Now you will be able to Link a house or larger build without using a rez box.

Next up, avatar scanner, then will release an updated version.

I hope everyone is enjoying the additions to our viewer.

One other thing I should mention. Add a drop down for SL upon further review is probably not going to work well. The reason behind this, is SL moves forward on viewer versions faster than I can... They have more developers. :) By the time I can roll this out, our version of the viewer is out of date, and they are mandating an update. I chose not to move to the 1.23.* series because of it's unstable nature. From my understanding sometime in August they will make mandatory 1.23 usage across the board. This update brings into being their Adult/Teen checks so that they may allow teens on the normal grid. Good or bad, it also changes the structure of the viewer. The current version actually does have some of those changes in it. I have debated removing them, but have decided not to, when I am ready to move to the 1.23 base it will be easier to do so.
