We hear again of MOSES here:

http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2015/10/us-army-working-on-web-gl-viewer-for-opensim/

They do not mention the MOSES-Inworldz collaboration, thought

Any drive towards innovation and improvements going into the future has to be a good thing for inworldz so a big thumbs up.

This is great news

as for it being military linked... in a perfect world there would be no need for armies. Sadly we don't live in that world and many good things come out of forces world wide.

That reminds me. Whatever happened to that website that use to stream SL and Iwz along with other games? You know. It let you have SuperUltra graphics on any computer that could at least stream videos.

There's two of them. OnLive, which got acquired by Sony and then was shutdown. Then there was Bright Canopy, which had to temporarily shutdown for a month and relaunch with a new pricing model because they could not sustain their losses under the old pricing model (full history here: http://modemworld.me/2015/12/06/bright- ... -of-frame/ )

The takeaway: cloud rendering for gaming and virtual worlds is very very expensive to operate, and it'll probably be a while before prices come down.
