I have some questions :

Question one : If we compare the performance of a full sim , to a 2x2 quad: is there a difference in performance of the two sorts of sims when we sail on them with lets say 5 or 6 ships?
(If this question is ansered in other threads , sorry..)

Question two: whats the influene of the the amount of prims on a 2x2 quad on performance, assuming scrips on the sims are low and textures on the sims are not causing lag in the viewer? It here a maximum of prims u will recommend?

Question three : scenics have 5000 prims in max. Is the performance of a scenic sim good enough to organise events on them, for instance a dancing event with life performance and 10 to 20 avatars visiting?

Thank you :)

Don't know all the answers but a few observations.

Scenics are very limited and not suitable for events at all.

When I have region crossing problems, it is usually going from a full region to a scenic or a 2x2. Doesn't happen all the time, but a lot of the time. Doesn't happen as much to my partner for some reason. He will be sailing away into the region, but I will be frozen and sometimes even crash.

Sailing around INSIDE a 2x2, not so much problems. Only seems to be on crossing into a different kind of region for some reasonn.

* this is just my experience, others may vary :)

I can't be sure of all the fine points... I do know that some users consider a 2 x 2 an advantage, in some ways. They are, as much as possible, all four regions located on the same physical machine (I can only assume this has mechanical advantages when crossings are involved) and there are some other points that might make some slight differences (as far as I know, though, a 2 x 2 isn't different in most respects, from 4 standard regions set in a 2x2 configuration).
